[The old name of a city in Venezuela, in South America, now called Ciudad-Bolivard.] Angostura bark : A bark, very valuable as a febrifuge, in po e ion of the Capuchin friars belonging to the mi ions on the river Carony, in South America. It is a Rutaceous plant of the genus Galipea, but whether it is the G. cusparia ( Bonplandia trifoliata ), or the G. officinal is , has not yet been completely determined. (Lindley: Veg. Kingd ., p. 471.) In Loudon's Encyclopædia of Plants it is said to be the Cusparia febrifuga .
