[Prefix phyllo-, and Gr. morphe =form.] Bot.: The same as PHYLLODY. phỹl-lô-nyc-ter-is, s. [Pref. phyllo, and Mod. Lat. nycteris (q. v.). Zool.: A genus of Bats, sub-family Phyllos to mine, group Glo ophage. The erect portion of the nose-leaf very short; interfemoral membranes very narrow; calcaneum short or wanting. Two species: Phyllonycteris poeyi , from Cuba, and P. sezekorni , from Cuba and Jamaica. The validity of the latter species is questionable. phyl-lõph-a-ga, phỹl-lõph-a-ģī, s. pl.
