Preach and predicate are doubt lets.] A. Intransitive : 1. To proclaim or publish tidings; espec, to proclaim the gospel. ( Wycliffe : Romaynes x.) 2. Specif .: To pronounce or deliver a public discourse on some religious subject, or upon a text of Scripture; to deliver a sermon. "They will not reade, nor can they preach."
