There are 3 species, P. æthere us, P. flavi rostris, and P. rubric aud a, inhabit ing chiefly tropical seas, and known as tropic - birds. Also Phaeton and Lepturus. In general form and aspect they resemble terns, and the bill in particular is sternine.
