Aponeurosis

(ap-on-u-rof -sis). A fibrinous membranous expansion of a tendon giving attachment to muscles or serving to enclose and bind down muscles. Remarkable for their size or importance are the infra-spinous, enclosing the infra spinous muscle; that of the arm, of the deltoid muscle, of the external oblique or abdominal, of the forearm, of the leg, of the transversal is, of the head, etc., etc. A. of Occipito-frontal is, the tendinous aponeurosis that separates the two slips of the occipito-frontal is muscle.
