Haiti

a ps on the island of Haiti, W. I.; bounded by the Dominfean Republic, Atlantic Ocean, and Caribbean Sea; area, 10,204 square miles: capital, Port-au-Prince; pop. (1901) 1,294,400. The country is mountainous, being traversed by a voleanic range, which sends out lateral spurs, terminating in headlands on the coast.
