[Eng. extirp; -able.] may or can be extirpated; liable to extirpation. ěx'-tir-pāte, v. t. [Lat. extirp at us, exstirpatus pa. par. of extirpo, exstirpo.] [EXTIRP.] 1. Ord. Lang.: To eradicate, to root out, to extirpate, to destroy utterly, to exterminate. 'Some frightful diseases have been extirpated by science: and some have been banished by police."- Macaulay: Hist.
