A ball hoisted on a staff to indicate the height of the tide. tide-coacht (tīd'kōch), n. A stage-coach plying in connection with a packet whose arrival and departure depended on the tide. He took a place in the tide - coach from Rochester. Smollett, Roderick Random, xxiv. ( Davies .) tide-crack (tīdʻkrak), n . Same as tidal crack (which see, under tidal ).
