London 1815; sang at the chapel royal; accompanist to John Wilson, afterwards to David Kennedy both Scotch singers; second tenor of the Glee and Madrigal union; secretary of the Noblemen and Gentlemen’s catch club; composed Bird of Beauty 1852, The Angel’s Watch 1853 and other popular songs; wrote many original pieces for the pianoforte. d. 4 Cambridge place, Regent’s park, London 29 Nov. 1876.
