BROMLEY

a town of England, county Kent, 10 miles S.S.E. of London, on the London, Chas am, and Dover Railway, with an alms-house for old and a well-endowed hospital for forty widows clergymen. It has a market square with a large many good houses, and has rapidly increased by the growth of lafge groups of houses by London merchants in its vicinity. Pop. 1871, 10,674.
