delegated jurisdiction

Scots Law : Jurisdiction which is communicated by a judge to another who acts in his name, called a depute or deputy . It is contradistinguished from *děl-ě-ga-çỹ, s. [Lat. delegatio , from delegatus , Propur jurisdiction (q. v.). pa. par. of dele go =to send to a place, to depute.] 1. The act of delegating or sending as a delegate. The species have a flat membranaceous rose-colored frond, with a percurrent midrib. They are small, being generally from two to eight inches high. The one best known is Deles ser i a sanguine a. Its fruit ripens in winter.
