(kol-u-teah.) (Bot.) A gen. of plants, O. Fabacer, consisting of shrubs indigenous to the Mediterranean region, characterized by having membranous bladder-like pods, which, when pre ed suddenly, burst with aloud noise,hence the common name of the gen., Bladder-Senna. The leaflets of C. arbores cens have purgative properties like those of Senna. [s. 209]
