[Named after Dr. John Lhotsky, a German botanical collector.] Bot.: A genus of Chamælauciaceae (Fringe Myrtles). It consists of three or four African shrubs, with yellow or violet heads of flowers. lî, s. [Chinese.] Lias 1. A Chinese copper coin, also called a cash (q.v.). 2. A Chinese measure of length, equal to 486 inch. li-ā-bě-æ, s. pl. [Mod. Lat. liab ( um ); Lat. fem. pl. adj. suff. -eœ.] Bot.: A sub-tribe of Composites, tribe Vernon i a cere.
