Baucis

(baw's is.) (Myt.) An old Phrygian peasant, who, with her husband Philemon, kindly received Jupiter and Mercury when travelling in disguise. For this favor Jupiter changed their cottage into a temple, and made them his priests. At their death they were changed into trees. [s. 80]
