MUCUS

(Lat.), n. m. Mu2k(muk)'u3s(u4s). From mungere, to blow the nose. Fr., m. Ger., Schleim. The clear viscid secretion that lubricates the mucous membranes, consisting of a limpid liquid containing suspended epithelial cells, a few leucocytes, and granular d6bris.
