(Lat.), n. f. Hi(he)-dros-a2d(asd)-e2n-i(e)'- ti2s. Written also, hydros adenitis and hydro adenitis. Gen., -it'idos (-idis). From iSpws, sweat, and iSijf, a gland (see also -it is*). Fr., hidrosadenite. An inflammatory disease of the sweat glands, occurring most commonly in the axillae, at the margin of the anus, or about the nipples, characterized by the formation of little inflammatory tumors, of about the size of a pea, or sometimes larger, which tend to form absce es seated deep in the skin.
