[Lat. gutta =a drop, and fero =to bear.] 1. Sing.: One of the Clusia cere (q. v.). 2. Pl .: Lindley's name for that order itself. gut-ti-fer-ā-lēş, s. pl . [Mod. Lat., from gutti fer (q. v.); Lat. masc. or fem. pl. adj. suff. -ales .] Bot.: An alliance of hypogynous exogens, with mono dichlamydeous flowers, axile placentæ, imbricated calyx, imbricated or twisted corolla, and an embryo with little or no albumen. Lindley includes under it the orders Dipteraceæ, Ternstærmiacere, Rhizobolacere, Clusia cere, Marcgraviacem, Hypericaceæ, and Reaumuriaceo (q. v.). guttiferous
