KERATOGLOBUS

(Lat.). n. m. Ke2r-a2t(a3t)-o2g'lob(lo2b)- U3s(u4s). From xepas, a horn, and globus, a globe. Fr., keratoglobe, keratoglobus. A disease characterized by a uniform spherical bulging of the whole cornea, which generally extends to the neighboring portion of the sclerotic. The term has been used synonymously with hydro pht halm i a and buphthalmia. The cornea may remain transparent or become slightly cloudy. The anterior part of the sclera becomes much thinned.
