LARVA & PUPA. ( Coccinella Septempunctata.) stroy the Aphides, or plant-lice, in vast numbers, feeding on them both in the larva and perfect state. Coc'colite, n . It is chiefly met with in the iron mines of Sweden and Norway. Coccolo'ba, n. [Gr. kokkos , a berry, lobos , a lobe.j (Bot.) A genus of plants, order Polygon aceæ. From the leaves, wood, and bark of C. uvifera , a very astringent extract, commonly known as Jamaica kino, is obtained. The fruit, called the seaside grape, is edible, and has an agreeable acid flavor.
