lir-i-ō-den′dron, n. a North American tree, sometimes above 100 feet in height, having close bark, large four-lobed leaves, and greenish-yellow flowers, something like a tulip.—Also Tulip-tree . [Gr. leirion , a lily, dendron , a tree.]
