[ erate Anabaptists, founded in 1534 by one Ubbe Phillips. The Ubbenites rejected the doctrine of divorce, and differed from the rest of the Anabaptists by denying that the kingdom of Christ is an earthly kingdom, in which the righteous are to exterminate the wicked.
