Farad

Practical unit of electrical capacity, named from Faraday. It is equal to 10-o C.G.S. electromagnetic units of capacity; or to 9x10" electrostatic units. A sphere of 9x10" centimeters radius has a capacity of one farad; but for convenience the standard in use is the micro farad or the millionth of a farad.
