Marsupial Pouch, or MARSUPIUM

Pouch formed by an external fold of skin on the abdomen of Metatherian Mammals, in front of the pelvis, supported by two special (epipubic) bones and inclosing the teats. The young are born in a very immature condition, placed in this pouch, and attached to the teats to complete their development.
