Hammock

(ham' -ok). A couch or bed made of netting or canvas, suspended at the ends. It is much used aboard ve els and in tropical regions; it has been used latterly in the transportation of the sick and wounded. Slings for fractured legs, etc., are sometimes called hammocks.
