Electric

It was formerly supposed that some bodies could be electrified when rubbed with fur or silk, while others could not. Referring to this property, all bodies were divided into two cla es, electrics and non-electrics. Dr. Gilbert called them "ideoelectrics" and "an electrics." In the light of our present knowledge, however, no such distinction can be made; all bodies are electrics.
