Cabinet

a deliberative committee of the executive authority, consisting of the principal members of the Government. The cabinet of the President of the United States is composed of the heads of the several administrative departments of the Government. They are: 1. The Secretary of State, 2. The Secretary of the Treasury. 3. The Secretary of War. 4. The Seeretary of the Navy. 5. The Secretary of the Interior.. 6. The Postmaster-General. 7. The Attorney- General. 8 The Secretary of Agriculture. 9. The Secretary of Commerce and Labor. They are appointed to office by the President, but their appointments must be confirmed by the Senate, and they generally hold office until their succe ors are appointed and confirmed.
