barytocalcite

[In Ger. baryto - calcit; from baryto, the form in composition of baryta or barytes, and calcite (q.v.), Ger. calcit.] 1. A mineral, called also Bromlite (q.v.). 2. A monoclinic transparent or translucent mineral, with a hardne of 4, a sp. gr. of 363-366; vitreous lustre, a white, grayish, greenish, or yellowish colour. Composition: Carbonate of baryta, 663; carbonate of lime. 33-7100. It occurs at Alston Moor, in Cumber land. E. D.-Vol. 1-29 450
