Warren, English scientist, inventor and miscellaneous writer, born in 1815; was widely known for his astronomical photographs, and for his inventions in connection with color-printing, oil refining, ete. He died in 1889, Delauny, Jules Elie, a French —_— and portrait poise: born in antes June 12, 18 In 1856 he received the Grand Prix de Rome; the first-cla medal at the Paris Exposition of 1878; and at that of 1889 was awarded the medal of honor. He was made an officer of the Legion of Honor and a member of the Institute. He died in Paris, Sept. 5, 1891.
