[L., neut. of qualis, interrog., of what character or quality, of what sort; rel., of such a kind; indef., having some quality or other: see quality.] An object named or considered as having a quality. Moreover, we can directly observe in our own organic sensations, which seem to come nearest to the whole content of infantile and molluscous experience, an almost entire absence of any a ignable quale.
