Cushing

Frank Hamilton, an American ethnologist, born in Northeast Pa. July -22, 1857. When 19 years old he was made curator of the ethnological exhibit at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, and in 1897 beeame connected with the United States Bureau of Ethnology. He died in Washington, April 10, 1900, Cushing, William, an American jurist; born in Scituate, Ma ., March 1, 1782. He graduated at Harvard in 1751, became judge of probate in Maine in 1768, judge of the Ma achusetts Superior Court in 1772, and chief-justice in 1777. Washington appine him a ociate justice of the upreme Court of the United States in 1789, and in 1796 offered him the post of Chief-Justice, which he declined. He died in Scituate, Ma ., Sept. 13, 1810.
