STRYCHNINA

(Lat.), n. f. Stri2k(stru6ch2)-nin(nen)'as. See STRYCHNINE. Granula strychninas [Belg. Ph., Fr. Cod.j. Fr., granules de strychnine [Fr. Cod.]. Pellets made of strychnine incorporated with sugar or milk-sugar and gum arabic, tragacanth, or honey, and containing each 1 milligramme of the drug. [B, 95 (o, 38).] Liquor strychninae hytlrochloratis [Br. Ph ]. A preparation made by di olving 2 parts (by measure) of pure strychnine crystals in a mixture of 4 parts of hydrochloric acid of sp. gr. T052 and 48 of water, and adding 48 of alcohol of sp. gr. 0'838 and 98 of water. [B, 95 (a, 38).] Pilulae strychnime.
