Seleucīa

, a town of Syria, on the sea-shore, generally called Pieria , to distinguish it from others of the same name. There were no le than eight other cities which were called Seleucia, and which had all received their name from Seleucus Nicator. They were all situate in the kingdom of Syria, in Cilicia, and near the Euphrates.
