‘c:-zi-ol n. 4. a luminous emanation, ring, halo, or cloud radiating from,’ or surrounding, a figure or an ebject, such as observd, for example, around an electric arc produced in a vacuum; an aureola. 2. (in meteorology) the ring of white light about twelv degrees wide, with a ruddy berder, sometimes seen around the sun or moon. 3. (an astronomy) the ring of light seen around the sun or moon in total eclipses of the sun.
