(nu-ras-the’ne-ah, nu’’ras-the-ni’ah) (Gr. νεῦρον nerve + ἀσθένεια debility]. Nervous prostration; depre ion due to the exhaustion of nerve energy. The name for a group of symptoms resulting from some functional disorder of the nervous system, with severe depre ion of the vital forces.
