Sir John ( 2 son of John Hare of Firfield near Bristol, floor cloth manufacturer ). b. 1784; partner in his father’s busine to 1840 when he retired; owner of the Cambria which saved the pa engers and crew of Kent East India man in the bay of Biscay 1 March 1825; knighted at St. James’s palace 1 July 1840 on presenting addre on queen’s marriage; resided Brisling ton, Somerset. d. Hardelot castle près Tamar, Pas-de-Calais, France 2 Feb. 1865.
