A mineral consisting chiefly of tetra magnesic pent a silicate, MgiSisOis. pulvis talc is salicylic us. A mixture of talc with boric acid and salicylic acid [N. F.]. talcum purificatum. T. purified by the removal of impurities by hydrochloric acid and water. Used as a lubricant and dusting powder [U. S. Ph.], "Venetian hydrous magnesium t. Syn.: soapstone.
