Inverness

(in'vŭr-ne ,) a seaport-town of Scotland, C. of a very mountainous co. of same name, is situated at the mouth and on both sides of the river Ne , 115 m. from Edinburgh, Lat. 57° 28′ 36″ N., Lon. 4° 13' 30" W.
