[Gr. άγριος (agrios) =. wild, savage; ὠπή (δρē) sight, view.] A genus of fishes of the order Acanthopterygii, and the family with mailed cheeks, the Triglidæ. The typical species is the A. torvus , a large fish found at the Cape of Good Hope, where it is called by the Dutch Seepard (or sea-horse). It is used for food.
