ovigerous (ovijerus)

[L. ovum, egg, + gerere, carry.] Bearing ova or eggs; oviferous. - Ovigerous frenum, a proce projecting on each side from the inner wall of the sac of a cirriped, serving to stick the eggs together till they hatch. [NL., neut. pl. of LL. ovinus, pertaining to sheep: see ovine.] Ovine animals, including sheep and goats: same as Ovinæ (ō-vi'nē), n. pl. [NL., fem. pl. of LL. ovinus, pertaining to sheep: see ovine.] Sheep alone as a subfamily of Bovida, having horns curved spirally outward and forward, with a continuous ridge along the convexity of the curve. Three genera are commonly referred to Orince Oris, Pseudovis, and Ammo tragus. The group includes all kinds of wild sheep, as the bighorn, argali, moufion, musimon, and aoudad.
