Absinthism

(ab-sinth' '-iznt). A disease similar to alcoholism, the result of the exce ive use of absinthe. It Abstention (ab-sten' -shun). An act of abstinence, or of abstaining; retention; const i is characterized by general muscular debility and mental disturbances, which may proceed to convulsions, acute mania, general softening of the brain, or general paralysis.
