pl. [Mod. Latin troglo dyt ( es ): Lat. fem. pl. adj. suff. -idœ.] Ornith.: Wrens; a family of Pa erine Birds, with seventeen genera and ninety-four species. They are rather abundant and varied in the Neo tropical region, with a few species scattered through the Nearctic, Pale arctic, and parts of the Oriental region.
