I so butyric Acid

(CH3),:CH.COOH. Bpt. 154° C. Found in the Arnica montana and other plants free and combined; liquid of very disagreeable odor, prepared from isobutyl alcohol by oxidation. It closely resembles BUTYRIC ACID (q.v.).
