A culture solution of 1 gram of ammonium tartrate and 10 grams of sugar candy in 100 c.c. of distilled water, the ash of 1 gram of yeast being added. Pasteur's system of inoculation. A system of i. for rabies in which a portion of the spinal cord of a rabid dog is used to inoculate a rabbit, which contracts the disease in about thirteen days. The spinal cord of this rabbit is used to inoculate another, and so on through a long series of cases. The cords are then dried and collected, some stale, others fresh and virulent. The system consists in beginning with the weakest for i. and progre ing gradually to those of the greatest intensity, when the patient is supposed to be proof against the disease. P. treatment.
