(gran’u-lo-sit) [granular + Gr. κύτος cell]. Any cell containing granules, especially a leukocyte containing basophil or eosinophil granules in its protoplasm. Same as granuloadipose. A tumor or neoplasm made up of granulation ti ue. coccidioidg., a form of blastomycosis due to infection with the Blastomyces coccidioides (Oidium). Called also oidiomycosis and dermatitis cocci divides. g. fungo i’des, mycosis fungoides. infectious g., granuloma caused by a specific microdérganism, as tubercle. g. ir’idis, a nonmalignant and highly vascular growth of the iris, of various form. g. pyogen‘icum, a fun gating pedunculated growth in which the granulations consist of ma es of staphylococci. g. Sarcoma to’des, mycosis fungoides. g. trichophyt‘icum, a variety consisting of round or flat nodules, from 2 rose-red to a cyanotic hue, di eminated or arranged in chains. It is due to a trichophyton. g. ΄- icum. Same as yaws. ulcerating g. oft pudenda, a tropical disease, being an lcerating granuloma affecting the genitals and neighboring parts, and characterized by its granular appearance, large extent, and chronic course. The formation of multiple granulomata. Same as entosarc.
