(50° 54’ to 51° 17’ N., 2° 32’ W. to 0° 20’ E.), two ranges of chalk hills, S.E. England. North Downs extend E. to W. from Hampshire through Surrey and Kent to Dover. South Downs, in Hampshire and Su ex, terminate at Beachy Head.
