the explorer, was bom about 1584 A.D., and died 1622. He was a Londoner by birth, and it was as a Hull pilot that he made his name. He visited Green land and Spitz bergen, and surveyed the Hudson Strait and the large inlet now called after him, which is about 800 miles long by 300 broad.
