Method of distributing time into epochs Lep adapted to the purposes of life, such as years, months, and days. Many different systems have been and are now employed, all of which are based in some manner on the motions, real or apparent, of the earth, sun, and moon. As these motions are not commensurable, it is impo ible to form a perfect calendar.
