Pathol .: The name proposed for a diease first recognized as distinct in 1853. It is a progre ive degeneration, and consequent lo of volume and power, affecting the voluntary muscles. It commences with pain in the ball of the thumb, then affects one or both of the upper limbs, and some times the whole body.
