[ bride's , po . of bridel , or bride, + man. Cf. MLG. brutman = Icel. brüdhmadhr = ODan. bru demand ; cf. OF. brumen , a fiancé.] A man who attends upon a bridegroom and bride at their marriage. bride's-staket (brīdz'stāk), n.
