An acute infectious disease due to the action of a specific virus, probably a protozoon, transmitted by a mosquito of the genus Stegomyia; clinically it is marked by fever, with one remi ion, slow pulse, albuminuria, jaundice, congestion of the face, and hemorrhages, especially hematemesis yellow jack, black vomit.
